Over its 20-year history, the report has established itself as a significant regional campaign tool for enhancing professional journalism in South Asia. It is the pre-eminent summary of journalism working conditions; advocacy for media rights and freedom of expression and the campaigns of the South Asia Media Solidarity Network (SAMSN) \u2013 a broad media alliance defending journalists\u2019 rights and freedom of expression in South Asia.<\/p>\n
In 2022, this important media advocacy tool is more significant than ever before. In the current climate of pandemic, growing intolerance towards diverse and dissenting opinions, undermining of digital journalism and increased violence towards journalists and media.<\/p>\n
