PFUJ Press Release: Israel attack on Media houses in Gaza and Iran

Lahore. Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) President Rana Mohammad Azeem, Secretary General Shakeel Ahmed and members of the Federal Executive Council have strongly condemned the incidents of missiles firing & shelling of Iranian media houses and religious places in Mashhad by Israel and expressed solidarity with the Iranian media. PFUJ has called on the international community to take strong notice of the attacks as a blatant violation of the UN Charter, international laws and war traditions.

Israel has now imposed an unprovoked war on Iran after Gaza, indiscriminately shelling media houses, hospitals, civilian populations, and religious sites, resulting in the deaths of nearly seventy media workers overall.

The leadership of PFUJ states that according to international laws, hospitals, media houses, and civilian populations are exempt from shelling even during war, but Israel, in the intoxication of power, is violating all laws and poses a threat to global peace, which necessitates immediate action from the international community. The PFUJ leadership has stated that nationwide protests will be held against Israeli aggression to express solidarity with the media houses and journalists in Gaza and Iran, and to awaken the global conscience.
