NUJ-I Statement: Killing of journalist Dharmendra Singh Chauhan

Mr. Ras Bihari, President of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) in India, has strongly condemned the recent killing of journalist Dharmendra Singh Chauhan.
He has urged for a high-level enquiry into the incident, stating that it is a blatant attack on press freedom and the right to information. Mr. Bihari has also demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits responsible for this heinous crime.
He has emphasized that such acts of violence against journalists cannot be tolerated and strict action must be taken to ensure their safety and protection. Additionally, Mr. Bihari has also called for financial compensation to be provided to the family of the victim as a gesture of support and solidarity. As the head of NUJ, he stands in solidarity with all journalists in India and will continue to fight for their rights and safety in the face of such tragic incidents.
