Afghanistan: International Women’s Day observed
08 Mar, 2022The Afghan Independent Journalists Association (AIJA) celebrated International Women’s Day with dozens of women journalists.
Speaking at the meeting, Farhad Behroz, AIJA Deputy Director, spoke about the current situation of female journalists, saying that AIJA findings show that 80 percent of women media workers have lost their jobs during the political upheaval.
According to the AIJA leadership, if the economic problems of the media and journalists are not addressed, other employees, especially women, will soon lose their jobs.
The AIJA called on international institutions to address the issue in order to prevent a major media catastrophe.
