Demand for action against AAP leaders who misbehaved and beat up Times Now’s video journalist
21 May, 2024New Delhi, May 20, 2024. The National Union of Journalists India has demanded strict action against the culprits behind the misbehavior and beating of Times Nowvideo journalist Akanksha Khajuria by Aam Aadmi Party workers. NUJI National President Ras Bihari said that the video journalists of Times Now had gone to ask questions about the corruption and scams of the AAP party. It is possible that due to the displeasure of the Aam Aadmi Party, his anger was vented on the journalist.
The NUJI President said that in democracy there is freedom to show the corruption of political parties and their leaders and ask questions against it. The media has got the right to ask questions. He said that it seems that AAP leaders are repeatedly insulting the media due to their declining support base. He said that cases of attacks on media persons would also be taken up in the Press Council of India. A memorandum will soon be submitted to the Union Home Minister regarding the increasing attacks on journalists, demanding action against the culprits. DJA President Rakesh Thapliyal said that any kind of attack against media persons will not be tolerated. We strongly condemn this incident.
