Press Statement
India: NUJ (I) ENTERS GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR
18 Dec, 2020I am delighted to share with you all that our beloved organisation National Union of Journalists (India) affiliated to the International Federation of Journalists, (IFJ) is going to enter into its Golden Jubilee year. It’s a proud moment for all of us. We are going to reach 50 years of our journey. It is needless to mention that we all are having an emotional bondage with this prestigious body of the Scribes of the Country. During this long journey we have achieved a lot. We have lost many of our vibrant leaders who have dedicated their entire lives for the cause of the profession and the union. This is the right to remember their sacrifice and to rededicate ourselves to fulfill the cherished dream of our predecessors.
To mark this occasion NUJ(I) is planning to have befitting programmes at different parts of the Country. Patrakar Sampark Yatra will be organised through which office bearers of NUJ (I) will touch various regions to gather information about the condition of journalists. So many plans are there. For this a committee will be constituted under the Chairmanship of Ras Bihari, President, NUJ(I) which will finalise the detailed blueprints of the celebration to be organised throughout the year. On 23rd January 2021 a Meeting will be held at NUJ (I) head office with selective members to celebrate the occasion and finalise the plan. All are requested to give their full effort and make this proud moment memorable. In the meanwhile it has come to our notice that some unwanted persons, no way connected with NUJ(I) are spreading false information regarding celebration of the Golden Jubilee. Expose them at each level and let everybody know about their fraudulent activities.
