Pakistan: PRESS RELEASE

Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned the closure of Indus News and termed it financial murder of the media workers. PFUJ President GM Jamali and Secretary General Rana Muhammad Azeem has said that hundreds of workers have lost their jobs with this decision but no organization has shown its concerns. They continued that the same management had already shut down “AAP NEWS” couple of months ago making thousands of media workers jobless.

The PFUJ leadership said that some so called leaders and owners’ funded organizations have been busy in protesting over PMDA but they are totally dumb over this brutal act of the Indus News owner& management. The PFUJ leadership has announced to stage country wide protest on September 16 and urged PEMRA and other the relevant authorities to look into and take necessary legal action against the Indus News management.
