PFUJ condemn another journalist murdered

Lahore: President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists GM Jamali, Secretary General Rana Muhammad Azeem, Secretary Finance Jameel Mirza and members of the Federal Executive Council strongly condemned the murder of correspondent of Daily Khabarin and Sach News Muzaffargarh, Meher Ashfaq Sial, and demanded the Punjab government and the IG Police to arrest the killers. They should be immediately arrested and punished and those who support them should also be exposed. According to the incident detailss, journalist Ashfaq Ahmad Sial was targeted and killed by unknown motorcyclists after stopping him on the Muzaffargarh thermal bypass. According to the local police, Ashfaq Ahmad Sial was shifted to DHQ hospital in critical condition but he could not survive.  Ashfaq Ahmad Sial was associated with the national newspaper Daily News Khabrain. The body of the slain journalist was shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem. The local police say that the investigation of the incident is under way and the search for the accused is going on. The PFUJ leadership says that the government has been convinced several times earlier to ensure the security of journalists, but no action has been taken. In many cases, journalists not only have to face violence in order to perform their duties but also their lives are not safe. The PFUJ leadership has demanded that the killers of the deceased Ashfaq Ahmed should be immediately arrested and punished according to law and a financial compensation should be provided to the family members of killed journalist. .
