MAYOR THREATENS JOURNALIST FOR SECOND TIME
Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City's Mayor Dwariklal Chaudhary issued threat of attack on Sunsari based journalist Birat Gautam on June 4. Itahari lies in the southern plains of Province 1. Birat Gautam is the news chief of local Koshipatra daily and also associated with the on online news portal www.nepalsamaya.com run from the federal capital, Kathmandu. Gautam said, ''I had posted a photo with a national player in Facebook. Then, Mayor Chaudhary who is also my friend in Facebook commented on the post that journalists are chatukar patrukaar (lackey substandard being).'' Later, when journalist Gautam called Mayor Chaudhary to know why he made such comment, Mayor Chaudhary roared that he had allocated 'Rs. 10 million to break his nose.'

Fatwa urging journalist killings issued
Taj Mohammad Wazeer, the former leader of JI and members of Pakistan’s National Assembly, made the announcement at a political rally attended by hundreds of people in South Warizistan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to reports, Taj announced the fatwa at the protest saying: “The media has not come to cover this protest because it is against of the government and the army. Snatch the cameras, mobiles and all other devices from them and declare jihad against them” He went on to say that he ordered journalists in Wana to be killed and that he would take responsibility for this action.

Rana Azeem receives death threats
Some banned non state actors has once again issued threats for speaking against them. The law enforcement agencies has issued a list of threats and warning based on their information which bears the names of PFUJ Secretary General Rana Muhammad Azeem along with a couple of other senior journalists while a bomb threats are unearthed to the Lahore Press Club. Rana Aeem had been warned by the agencies to take care while moving around the city. As a matter of fact the law enforcement agencies had evacuated the Lahore Press Club building, day before yesterday, after suspecting a serious threat from the militants.
