Abdul Alim and Ishan Bin Didar
Cameraperson Abdul Alim and reporter Ishan Bin Didar of private TV station ATN News, were brutally beaten by a group of policemen inside the Shahbagh Police Station in Dhaka while they were covering the shutdown enforced by the demonstrators protesting the construction of a power plant. Alim needed three stitches on his right eyebrows as a result of the beating.

Shakil Hasan and Sahin Alam
A dozen people assaulted reporter Shakil Hasan and cameraperson Shahin Alam of Jamuna TV as they were reporting on the illegal polythene factories in Chawkbazar, Dhaka on November 6.. The gang, including owners of two polythene factories, also tried to burn the reporter with kerosene. “Soon after we went there to report, a few men told us to steer clear of any trouble. As we were leaving, about 10 men came running and began to beat us up,” said Hasan who ran into a nearby grocery store for shelter. “The attackers followed me and grabbed a jar of kerosene from the shop and poured it on me, soaking my shirt, pants and shoes. People standing nearby intervened and took the man with the matchstick away.”

Mithun Mostafiz, Mohsin Chowdhury, & Ahadul Islam Babu
Three journalists including assignment editor, Mithun Mostafiz, Mohsin Chowdhury, Chittagong bureau chief and photojournalist Ahadul Islam Babu, of the privately-run Boishakhi television channel were attacked. The trio were attacks as they were recording footage of an illegal hill cutting process in the city’s Khulshi area. The process of hill cutting includes cutting into the hills around the port city of Chittagong for residential developments. The process is illegal and detrimental to the local environment, as well as creating safety hazards for those living at the bottom of the hills.
