Samim Faramarz, Ramiz Ahmadi
Samim Faramarz, a 28-year-old reporter for TOLO News, alongside TOLO News Cameraman, Ramiz Ahmadi, 23, were reporting at the scene of an earlier suicide attack when they were killed in a second blast from a car bomb that occurred only an hour after the intial attack. The attack is believed to have targeted first responders to the initial bombing which targeted a wrestling event. 25 people in total were killed in the twin attacks and a further 80 were injured. Islamic State took responsibility for the attacks according Reuters.

Mohammed Akhtar
Mohammed Akhtar, 31 and a driver for Agence France Presse, was on his way to work when a suicide bombing, which has been claimed by the Islamic State group, was perpetrated in the surroundings of the Hamid Karzai International Airport. The attack targeted supporters of Afghan Vice President, Abdul Rashid Dostum, who were welcoming him on his return from exile. In total, 25 people died in the attacks.

Two suicide attacks struck Kabul within 20 minutes of each other. The first bomb was detonated by an assailant on a motorbike and killed seven of the listed journalists. The following attack – designed to harm those aiding victims of the first attack – occurred twenty minutes later and killed two of the listed journalists. In total 29 people including nine journalists were killed and scores more were injured. DAESH claimed responsibility for the crimes; it is considered the worst attack on journalists in Afghanistan in modern history, according to Al Jazeera.
